About Me

Software Developer

My name is Asgar, and I'm a Science Laureate from Mauritius and recipient of the Cambridge Outstanding Learner's Award in Computer Science 🏆. Currently, I am an undergraduate student at New York University Abu Dhabi, pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics and Engineering 🎓. Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to study in different Global Locations including Abu Dhabi, Paris, Berlin and New York, and gained extensive professional experience through Internships, Projects, and Research Positions in France, the UAE, and Mauritius, working in areas such as Full-Stack Development, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Data Management. -Developed a full-stack travel tracker website using Angular (frontend), ASP.NET (backend), and MySQL (database), streamlining travel arrangements for a company with over 10 branches.

-Implemented Docker to optimize the development process and set up SSL certificates with Nginx as a reverse proxy.

-Gained practical experience in QA methodologies, conducting over 50 test cases to validate the reliability and performance of the developed applications.

Machine Learning Engineer Intern, Wintics

-Optimized machine learning models using PyTorch, NumPy, TensorFlow, and ONNX for two major projects, improving accuracy in identifying unattended animals and fall incidents in metro stations.

-Managed data extraction, labelling, and annotation processes for over 3000 images from the COCO dataset, creating robust training and validation JSON sets for learning models.

-Utilized Docker to containerize machine learning applications, ensuring reproducibility and scalability across different computing environments.
